1.1 Background of the Study
Rural entrepreneurship plays a pivotal role in the development of local economies in Nigeria, particularly in regions with limited access to urban markets and services. Kaltungo Local Government Area in Gombe State, like many rural areas, faces challenges such as lack of infrastructure, limited access to capital, and a lack of awareness about modern business practices (Aliyu & Kabir, 2023). Despite these challenges, short films have emerged as a promising tool for promoting entrepreneurship, providing local entrepreneurs with platforms to learn about business development, innovation, and market strategies.
Short films, with their ability to deliver concise and impactful messages, can effectively communicate entrepreneurial ideas and encourage self-reliance in rural communities (Suleiman & Tunde, 2024). This study seeks to explore the role of short films in promoting entrepreneurship among youth and adults in Kaltungo, investigating whether these films can inspire individuals to start their own businesses, thereby contributing to rural economic development.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Kaltungo, like many other rural areas, faces significant barriers to entrepreneurship, including limited exposure to best practices and insufficient entrepreneurial education. This study seeks to assess whether short films can serve as an effective tool in overcoming these barriers and driving entrepreneurial action in Kaltungo.
